JAGUAR UNVEILS TYPE 00 AT MIAMI ART WEEK:
A NEW ERA OF EXUBERANT MODERNISM
Jaguar has entered a new transformative era with a global re-emergence at Miami Art Week in December, following the debut of its bold new visual identity. In the heart of the Miami Design District, known for its luxury fashion and modern architecture, Jaguar revealed the next step in its transformational journey: the Jaguar Type 00, a distinctive design vision concept that embodies the brand’s new exuberant modernism creative philosophy.
CELEBRATING BRITISH CREATIVITY
Jaguar emphasized its commitment to art by championing British creativity. The brand curated two gallery spaces: ‘Jaguar.Exuberance’ at Art Miami, featuring original works by British artists, and ‘Copy Nothing’ at Jungle Plaza, showcasing unique installations by contemporary British artists Ibby Njoya, Campbell Addy, Yagamoto, and Patience Harding.
DRAMATIC STATEMENT OF INTENT
As the sun set over Miami Beach, luminaries from the art, film, fashion, and music worlds gathered for an exclusive event. Notable attendees included Chance the Rapper, supermodels Helena Christensen, Karolina Kurkova, and Devon Windsor, and British actor Dominic Cooper, along with model and creative director David Gandy. The evening featured an exclusive DJ set by Más Tiempo presents Skepta, setting the stage for the grand reveal of the Jaguar Type 00.
JAGUAR TYPE 00: EXUBERANT MODERNISM
The Jaguar Type 00 is a dramatic statement of intent, showcasing a radical new design language. The ‘Type’ prefix references iconic models like the E-type, while the zeros symbolize zero tailpipe emissions and its status as the first in a new lineage of Jaguars. Key features include a long bonnet, sweeping roofline, fastback profile, and 23-inch alloy wheels, creating a dramatic silhouette with sophisticated, modernist surfaces.
The interior is a modernist masterpiece with hand-finished brass lines, a 3.2m-long brass spine, and floating instrument panels. The use of travertine stone and woven textiles creates a unique atmosphere. The body-harmonised glazed roof casts a subtle pattern onto the materials inside, enhancing the cabin's character.
PERSONALIZATION AND ARTISTRY
Occupants can tailor the cabin's mood using the Prism case, which contains totems of natural materials—Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster. Placing a totem inside the centre console adjusts ambient lighting, soundscapes, screen graphics, and scents, offering unprecedented personalisation.
JAGUAR’S ARTISTIC LEGACY
Jaguar has long been celebrated for its design excellence and artistic influence, with the E-type’s inclusion in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Guided by the vision of its founder, Sir William Lyons, who believed Jaguar should be a ‘Copy of Nothing,’ the Type 00 commands attention, embodying the essence of Exuberant Modernism.
A VISION OF THE FUTURE
The arrival of the Jaguar Type 00 at Miami Art Week marks the beginning of a new era for the brand. It is a bold and fearless statement that sets the stage for a future generation of Jaguars that will look unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
